I was induced into labor on Nov 4th and after 18 hours of labor with little
progress, "CJ" Charles Jaye was born via a c-section. He scored
9/9 on the APGAR test and his only issue was a slightly high respiratory rate in
his first 36 hours of life. I faced my own battle upon discovering that
the epidural had the strange ability to hang on in my legs long after the drugs
were added. Almost a week later I have only just gotten feeling back in my
right leg which was later diagnosed as a nerve compression issue from the labor. Here are some photos from his birth and the days after to the day
he came home, Nov 9th.

After hours I finally got to hold my son again. Our reunion was delayed by my neurological issues and CJ's respiratory issues. We wouldn't be reunited again for good till the next night. |

For a few minutes we were together... Daddy did his part though and fed CJ despite him being in a special nursery due to his respiratory issues. |
